Build Like a Roman: A Hands-On STEM Workshop for Kids

At TrovaTrails, we’re always exploring new ways to make history land through active, hands-on learning.

This pilot workshop at Explora Children’s Museum is part of that journey — bringing together history and STEM in a way children can truly experience.

How did the Romans build a vast, complex city — without electricity or modern machines?

In this session, children step into the role of Roman engineers, tackling playful challenges and simple experiments to understand the ideas behind the ancient world.

They’ll test how pulleys lift heavy loads, discover why arches are so strong, and see how Roman builders solved problems with creativity and skill.

It’s designed to be active, engaging, and rooted in curiosity — not lectures, but learning by doing.
